Top 5 Tuesday – Favourite Book Quotes

This week for Top 5 Tuesday Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm chose the topic Favourite Book Quotes. I’m not going to lie, this really stumped me. I’m not the kind of person to keep a record of favourite quotes, songs, films, or anything for that matter. Of course I do have some favourites that I will always remember, or favourite moments of books that could be summed up by a quote. I also find that my favourite book quotes are really private, so I wasn’t sure I was ready to give you a look  into my life. Rambling over, I finally decided on a list of 5 of my favourite book quotes right now! These are either quotes which really spoke to me, and even changed my life in some circumstances, or just quotes from books I really love.

  1. ‘But though Death searched for the third brother for many years, he was never able to find him. It was only when he attained a great age that the youngest brother finally took off the Cloak of Invisibility and gave it to his son. And then he greeted Death as an old friend, and went with him gladly, and, equals, they departed this life.”

– Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

  1. “So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I’m still trying to figure out how that could be.”

– The Perks of Being a Wallflower

These are just a few quotes from some of my favourite books that I really love, whether they’re a funny reflection of my character, a life lesson that shaped who I am today, or just beautiful and poetic. I debated writing about why I chose these particular quotes but I decided they spoke better for themselves. Whilst I started this post in a panic about how I would find good quotes with my terrible memory, I ended it really loving my choices. Are any of these your favourite quotes too?

Happy reading!

      1. Same, I didn’t manage to squeeze any Harry Potter onto my own list but there are definitely lots of quotes I love in there! 🙂

  2. These are very classic quotes that I also love myself! The Perks of Being a Wallflower had so many wonderful quotes in it that there are way too many to keep track of! I especially love your Deathly Hallows quote. Deathly Hallows is probably my favorite Harry Potter book. Great post!!

  3. I love your Harry Potter quote. As I read it, I was taken back to when I first read those lines in the book. It sent the same feeling of warmth and revelation through me as it did the first time!! I’m so glad it was on your list!
