Top 5 Tuesday – Books on my 2018 Bucket List

I’m so excited to be back with the first Top 5 Tuesday of 2018! I loved participating in Bionic Book Worm‘s weekly meme last year so I can’t wait to be involved again. Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where Shanah chooses a topic and we all share are five favourite books related to the theme. This week the topic is books on my 2018 bucket list, and luckily for me I have a huge reading list this year! This may be a bit of a repetitive post as I’ve recently posted a haul and 2018 TBR, but I’m so excited for these books so who cares!

  1. One of Us is Lying – Karen M. McManus

one of us is lying

It’s probably not a surprise this is on my list after all the hype it got last year. I did mean to read One of Us is Lying towards the end of 2017 but I didn’t get round to it in between review commitments, so this is top of my bucket list this year! The novel may break away from my usual fantasy reads, but the concept is so interesting so I hope it turns out to be a stand out YA for me.

  1. Lost in Darkness – Emily Sowden

lost in darkness

I read Trapped in Silver, the first in the series, last autumn after being sent a copy to review. I fell in love with the book and knew I had to get my hands on the sequel as soon as it was released. I still have to wait a little longer as the book isn’t released until February, but I get really excited every time I think about it! This was such a wonderful new fantasy and left on a huge cliff hanger, so this definitely makes my bucket list.

  1. Hogwarts Library – J.K. Rowling

I have owned the Hogwarts Library collection for years but for some reason it’s been looking pretty on my shelf, untouched. Until now. I’m determined to finally pick up the infamous Hogwarts text books and dive into the classes the trio experienced. I feel like  these will be fun and easy reads that I can dip in and out of, just like a real school text book. I can’t wait to learn like a real Hogwarts student!

  1. The Seafarer’s Kiss – Julie Ember

the seafarer's kiss

I first saw this floating around on Twitter and immediately knew it had to be added to m TBR. Who can’t resist an LGBT retelling of The Little Mermaid? Certainly not this Disney fan! I got my hands on a copy for Christmas and I’m so excited to delve into the book. Whilst it may be small, I have high hopes for this story. Retellings were my new favourite thing last year so this book easily found a spot on my 2018 bucket list.

  1. There’s Someone Inside Your House – Stephanie Perkins

there's someone inside your house

A fellow blogger reviewed this last year and I loved their passionate review so much I decided I must read this novel, and just like that There’s Someone Inside Your House made it on to my 2018 bucket list. It’s not my usual genre at all but I can’t to branch out and read something different this year! The story sounds so intriguing and 2018 looks like the year of branching out so this earns the last spot on my T5T bucket list.

I have so many great books on my 2018 TBR but these are five that I am so excited to read, I wish I could devour them all right now! If you want to have a little look at what else I have my eyes on but didn’t quite make the Top 5 Tuesday cut, check out my 2018 TBR or my Birthday and Christmas Book Haul. I can’t wait to see what books you guys are excited about this year! What a great first topic to welcome us back to Top 5 Tuesday.

Happy reading!

  1. Fantastic list! I haven’t read any of these (ok I’ve read the Hogwarts library lol) but I’ve been planning to pick them all up! Especially One Of Us Is Lying. I’ve heard so many great things about it! I hope you get to pick them all up soon and love all of them!
    Thanks for participating 🙂
