May Book & Blogger Haul!

Untitled Design(70)

I thought I’d post something different on my blog today as I rarely do book hauls. I’ve been very lucky the past two months and have received a few parcels from publishers and companies. This is only a small haul but I’ve loved my new additions so I’m going to share the books I got sent throughout April and May, as well as some wax melts I’ve been sent as a thank you for a blog review.

Queer Monologues – Oberon Books

I was sent Queer Monologues by Oberon Books after reaching out to them on Twitter. Queer Monologues is a collection of monologues from LGBT+ plays. In case you didn’t know, I’m a theatre person so I was really interested in this. In a contemporary plays module at university I studied some LGBT plays, but I rarely see them in the theatres. I was keen to support this anthology as I’d love to see representation increase on stage. I will be reviewing Queer Monologues on my blog so keep an eye out.

Fit, Jubilee, Collective Rage – Oberon Books

As part of the Queer Monologues promotion I was sent a selection of three LGBT+ plays from Oberon’s collection. Each blogger received a different group of plays and I was sent Fit by Rikki Beadle-Blair, Jubilee adapted by Chris Goode, and Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties by Jen Silverman. Queer Monologues includes monologues from the plays Oberon sent out. This was totally unexpected mail and I was so grateful to add these to my play collection.

I Stop Somewhere – Wildest Dreams Subscription Box

This month I ordered a subscription box from Wildest Dreams. The theme was ‘Female Voices’ and I received I Stop Somewhere by T.E. Carter. I love the sound of this book and can’t wait to dive into it. It sounds like a moving read and it different from my usual picks. The box itself was so much fun and included some wonderful YA themed items. You can check out my whole unboxing here.

Wax Melts – Smelly Goth Scents

At the beginning of May I reviewed my first wax order from Smelly Goth Scents. I loved the quirky style so much and they smelled amazing. Smelly Goth caught my review and sent me some melts to thank me! I really couldn’t believe how kind she was. She sent me some more gorgeous yet spooky melts in some interesting scents that I can’t wait to try.

My May haul may have only been small but it was certainly mighty. I received some beautiful mail that I just had to share with you all. This included some wonderful plays, a hard-hitting book and some fun swag alongside it, and some amazing wax melts. It has been a month full of surprises in the mail.

Happy reading!
