7 Reasons Why You Need the 20th Anniversary Harry Potter Edition!

Today is exactly 20 years since the magic started, marking the anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. If you’re a Potter fan (book or film, no judgement here!) you’ve probably noticed the very colourful House editions released this summer. I’m sure you don’t need any persuading to buy yourself a copy to add to your book collection anyway, but I’ve made a list of 7 Reasons Why You Need the 20th Anniversary Harry Potter Edition! See what I did there?

  1. House Pride

Even not-so-obsessive-Potterheads know what Hogwarts House they are sorted in, it’s just the kind of trivia (or very important fact) that everyone knows. As you can probably tell, I’m a very proud Hufflepuff! These gorgeous editions let you wear your house colours with pride. Whether you buy the hardback or paperback copy, no one will ever mistake your house again.

  1. Illustrations

My favourite thing about these editions is the House Crest on the cover of the book. Each edition is filled with magical drawings by Levi Pinfold, some specific to the house edition of each book and some universal. They fit perfectly in with the Hogwarts feel and take me back home, because Hogwarts is where we all belong.

  1. House Info

Each book comes with an introduction specific to your house, giving you easy access to the best information. If you’re more of a Ron than a Hermione your Hogwarts history knowledge may not be up to scratch, but never fear! The anniversary edition brings you excusive house info so you’ll always know about your founder, house ghost, and notable alumni.

  1. Bonus Content

Everyone loves a bit of bonus content, but no one needs it more than a Potter fan desperately trying to understand the world they wished they lived in. Luckily for us, these special editions give us a detailed map of Hogwarts (so you don’t get lost on those pesky staircases!) and a mini sorting hat themed quiz at the back so you can ensure you have the best Potter knowledge to show off to all your friends.

  1. Collectability

There’s nothing us Harry Potter fans love more than collecting. We’re a bit like Nifflers in that sense. You probably already own a complete collection of the books, films, textbooks, and an assortment of other memorabilia, but you can never have enough. Not only are these limited edition, meaning you’ll never get a copy with your house colours again, but they also have a ’20 Years of Harry Potter Magic’ sticker, so you’ll always remember this special occasion.

  1. Celebration

There are many envious celebrations throughout the books, so it’s about time we get our own! Harry Potter, for many, isn’t your ordinary book and a book that’s changed lives in extraordinary ways deserved to be celebrated. Can you turn down an excuse to party?

  1. The Magic Never Stops…

For most of us, the magic is always there and the 20th Anniversary House Editions help to continue the story forever. This is a chance for us to turn the page and relive the journey. As J.K. Rowling once said, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”.

It’s crazy to think that 20 years ago we were first introduced to the boy under the stairs, not knowing that he would become the boy who lived. Whether you celebrate by rereading the series, marathoning the films, or treating yourself to your House Edition, make sure the magic never stops.

How will you celebrate the magic
